Engagement and education are at the core of Justin’s design practice. After serving in the USMC, Justin returned to Chicago earning his BA in 2007 and MA in 2015 in Communications with applied emphasis on user experience in the evolution of home technologies. In addition, his degrees offer a concentration in lighting, sound, automation, and atmosphere within commercial & residential structures.

Justin also has 16 years of construction industry experience in Carpentry and has performed several rehabs. Justin moved to Detroit, MI in the Summer of 2017 and began renovations throughout historical neighborhoods. He obtained his Michigan builders license in 2018 to operate as a general contractor, enabling him to identify opportunities and issues early on within the design process.

“I do not favor style over continuity or the ability to work with the established architectural characteristics in each space I am designing. It’s easy to see things we like, but to appreciate a place and aesthetic 10, 25, or 50 years later is the absolute challenge.”

Justin has a passion for traditional craftsmanship and believes form follows function.  Justin’s enthusiasm and experience is well suited to tackle your design project needs.  He desires to build an engaging space to form a new atmosphere of hospitality that will bring your vision for your future home or business to life.
